Why You Should Grow Your Facial Hair for ‘Movember’

‘Movember,’ similar to No-Shave November, is an awareness month for several types of cancer, especially prostate cancer. It encourages people to grow facial hair in the month of November so that they can raise awareness about these issues to promote funding and charity to the causes and organizations that work to provide treatment for them.

What Is Prostate Cancer?

If the cells in the prostrate start reproducing rapidly and growing faster than normal, it results in a tumor within the organ. Without any symptoms, the tumor would spread to other parts of the body, resulting in secondary tumors all across the body which could result in death.

The Initiative

By growing a mustache or a beard, especially in the month of November, one can raise awareness about the disease that has resulted in several premature deaths all across the world. The awareness would, in turn, lead to donations to organizations that treat and benefit people fighting the stages of cancer. The Movember Foundation successfully encouraged around five million people to be devoted supporters of the cause just by encouraging people to grow beards.

Show Your Support

Show support, grow your facial hair, and rock a mustache or beard so that you can let the world know that these issues are not to be taken lightly. The fact that people are dying is not something to be taken lightly. Simply by taking this simple effort and raising awareness, you might even save a life.
